AMS Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Scholarship Program

The AMS DEI Scholarship Program supports our commitment to expanding access to AMS professional development and ensuring that the learning opportunities we create are inclusive in serving all people, especially marginalized or under-resourced populations.

When you give to this program, you are supporting educators who, through their varied life experiences, promote healthy Montessori communities and nurture the overall success of present and future generations. Our hope is that many of our DEI scholarship recipients will move on to lead Montessori schools, classrooms, and teacher education programs around the world.

Amira D. Mogaji

PRESIDENT OF THE AMS BOARD OF DIRECTORS

In 2018, the AMS Board of Directors voted to make inclusion and equity a strategic priority because we believe in recognizing and honoring the full spectrum of human and social identities, including, but not limited to race, culture, gender, age, ability, language, economic and social background, religion, family composition, nationality, and sexual orientation.

Make an Impact. Give Today

Monies received for this program support educators in our community. Special consideration will be given to applicants who:

  • are of color and/or from under-resourced populations, including LGBTQIA and developing nations
  • are disabled
  • are members of a protected class under State or Federal law
  • show leadership potential working with teacher education programs and adult learners, especially those who are in any way disenfranchised, such as economically, racially, religiously, socially, geographically, socially, or politically
  • work in Montessori TEPs and/or schools serving racially diverse communities and/or under-resourced populations

Your donation signals your support of this mission and acts as a testament to the commitment of honoring and embracing diversity, equity, and inclusion.
