AMS Statement on the Shootings in Atlanta

MARCH 19, 2021—The American Montessori Society mourns the tragic and senseless loss of 8 people in shootings in Atlanta, Georgia, on Wednesday. Although the motivation for the crime is unknown, this vicious act of violence, regardless of motivation, is abhorrent. Brutality, regardless of cause, has no place in our society and in our world.

AMS Board Votes to Pause Elections for One Year

NOVEMBER 16, 2020—Earlier this fall, after extensive deliberation, the AMS Board of Directors voted to pause elections for new board members for one year. This means there will be no voting in 2021.

Submit a Workshop Proposal for the AMS Literacy Symposium

SEPTEMBER 8, 2020—Now through September 28, we invite submissions of workshop proposals for our Literacy Symposium, which will take place in January. Presenters will receive a free registration to both the symposium and The Montessori Event 2021.
